About me

My name is Shimrit Manor. I am 44 years old and I live in Tel Aviv. I was born and raised in Jerusalem in a house where my late father always used to engage and talk about the capital market. He tried to ‘infect’ my sisters and I with this love of his, to tell us what the market did today and how this or that stock behaved.

About the blog

What can I say that hasn't already been said about day trading? I’ve yet to personally meet a successful day trader, that's the truth. I've heard a lot of stories, listened to countless lectures, read books, attended courses, but I haven't met anyone that this is his actual job, from which she/he earns a living – that this is what she/he does all day, morning to evening.

Mindfulness, practice and the relevance to trading – Part A

Day trading in the stock market, money, numbers, graphs, ups, downs… What does this have to do with mindfulness and how does it have anything to do with me? The truth is all my life I stayed away and even despised the spiritual world… summonings, reality-creating thought and all that mumbo jumbo I lived my life furthest away from it all. Meditations, Buddhism… What is this nonsense? And a bit like the Buddha himself, I didn't encounter illness and death, I didn't go through major crises, I chose to ignore anything that could be perceived in my eyes as suffering.

Mindfulness, practice and the relevance to trading – Part B

Middle way: the path that the Buddha discovered during his search for the end of suffering - a path that leads to serenity - when the Buddha was looking for how to end suffering he tried to live in both extremes. He lived as a prince in a palace (the Buddha was the son of a king) and enjoyed all the pleasures of the senses and he lived as a penniless monk and experimented with torture and self-starvation.
